Why should I use Simply Unfair?

What if my bank refuses to pay?

If the bank refuses to settle your claim, we either refer you to a national law firm so that your claim can go to county court, or we will refer you to the Financial Services Ombudsman who will then take on the management of your case.

Can I reclaim unfair credit card charges too?

Yes, Simply Unfair is a specialist company set up especially to help people reclaim unfair fees; we can help you get back all your unfair penalty charges whether they were charged on current accounts or credit cards. We can also help if you feel you have been a victim of missold PPI (Payment Protection Insurance), also known as loan insurance.

How long will it take?

The time it takes will depend on your bank, but generally a claim takes between three and four months to settle. If your bank will not settle out of court and we need to go to trial, your case may take a little longer to complete.

What if I am no longer with the bank I am reclaiming from?

That doesn’t matter. You have the right to make a claim for charges made over the past six years whether you are still with the same bank or not, we will still be able to obtain the records needed.

If I am still with the bank in question, will they close my account?

We cannot guarantee that the bank will not close your account, but The Banking Code Standards Board states that the banks should not take a "disproportionate response" and should always treat customers "sympathetically and positively".

What if my bank tries to contact me about the case?

Your bank should not contact you directly, because by passing the case onto Simply Unfair, you have given us the authority to represent you and act on your behalf. If your bank does contact you about the claim, let us know straight away.

Will I definitely get my money back?

We cannot guarantee anything, but we work on a  no win, no fee basis, so if they do refuse to pay, you will not have lost anything. However, it is more than likely that you will get your money back; apart from the odd case where a bank has refused to pay, in most other cases, banks have settled out of court to avoid going to trial.

How much will it cost me?

We work on a no win, no fee basis. Our fee is 25% plus VAT of the damages recovered. This is a total fee of 29.37%.
